Well, my latest acquisition isn't really good enough to tell anyone about, and certainly not worthy of posting on CT, so here goes, lol. (Not only am I hard headed, but I have thick skin, too) I don't really collect errors, but this one I wanted (after I found out how much I could get it for). Yes, I know it's been "cleaned" (actually, a better description might be "buffed with a wire wheel"). But it's an "O" over a "S" mint, and, being from Louisiana, I'm partial to "O" mints, and I got it for $30. I realize that to most of you, I "wasted my money", but I'm happy with it and that's all that matters to me. This is a hobby and I'm having fun!
There certainly are a large number of Lincoln Cents. I have 272 of them in NGC and PCGS slabs and I still have many more to go. I have the proof and mint state issues. This one is from 1998 and the Denver mint.
I actually bought a couple coins last night after basically nothing for a couple years. Maybe I’ll start doing coin show’s again at some point too. But did pick up a couple nice original tougher dates seller pics.
I thought the same thing? Why world someone, apparently use a wire brush on a coin with as good of details as this one appears to have? What did it look like to make them do that? Lots of unanswered questions, but, it is what it is. I'm glad to have it, but would have preferred the "unbrushed" version.
