Here's the newest one in my possession I picked it up for next months coin club Christmas raffle. With any luck I'll bring it home perminatly Everyone keep your fingers crossed, I'll buy $40 in raffle tickets at $5ea and swing for the fence.
It finally got here and I didn't know it would have the 35th anniversary holder. I actually like it! Really nice with this pretty unique coin. The only colonial I own and the only 35th anniversary holder i have so far.
Arrived a week ago, already posted in Barber thread so I'm repeating it here. Fairly uncommon Obv Type 2/Rev Type 2 combo. I enjoy it when a coin has something extra, in this case a faint die crack through the lower right 6 stars, and "roller marks" on the reverse (which are almost invisible in-hand). Also a tiny die crack from the T in quarter to the rim.
I strayed the other night, while watching the error quarter with the bean this one was ending a bit before it and had no bids. I don't buy many of these. But I will if they're cheap and FT. So I placed the starting bid of 22 free shipping! I like the holder. I like no prongs! I was also watching a peace dollar in one of these holders and lost it. Well, not so much lost as didn't want to pay anymore than the other 2 guys lol.
My double eagle and a deeper scratch on its cheek. The dealer told me that when you send in coins to be graded, that you are taking a chance unless you are experienced in grading coins. I wasn't, so, I took my chance.
You cannot miss the clashing on both obv. And rev. Unfortunately holed but its an solid example for the die marriage. This is an SLQ FS-901 clashed with a flying eagle cent "mule clash" I haven't been buying much lately as one of my pups has been ill and her vet bills are eaying away at extra cash. No worries she's doing pretty good for a 14 year old. I take her 2 times a week for hydration. Anyway I still window shop... always on the hunt...no matter if I pull the trigger or not. There are several close friends here on CT that share information from time to time...sometimes daily giving each other tips to finding coins we seek. Anyway Nathan401 happens to be one of these close friends. I text him quite frequently with items I want to share. I ran across this coin and passed it on to two friends here.....well Nathan did purchase it as he knew I was spot on with the variety. Then he text me and gifted the coin to me as an early holiday gift! Thanks Buddy ... I have always known the joy of giving....and must say receiving feels just as good too. Thanks Nathan you made my month!

I'm at VF25-30 personally. Maybe cleaned? The dark stuff below the eagles head and wing make me think cleaned but could be wrong.
