2023 a little early and a little late...

 

This found its way to my collection thanks to Mike at ToughCoins who chased it down at the recent Baltimore show.

 

These technically were U.S coins.

 

Spanish colonial minted in Mexico City?

 

I believe so.

 

It arrived yesterday and I'm bewildered yep that's the word. It's a which has been cut out.
A. I should have known it is a fake Chinese dollar
B. They did a nice job cutting it out.
C. Was it worth the price? Still trying to decide, but I've wasted more money on other things, so I'm OK
D. I think I'll turn it into a pin.

Woke up the other morning and this CAC ike was on the bay for 39.00. For the last year or so any ike with a bean will bring 150+ on auction. I was hurrying to cart and pay. And the total in cart didn't look right but I ran on through and paid. Once I was done I realized it only charged me 31.20 total. I was scratching my head. And after the seller shipped it I messaged and asked why I was only charged 31.20. He was having a 20% off sale!

 

That is an awesome deal.

 

About a year ago one popped up starting bid of like 20 with make offer. I offered 60 and the guy accepted. It was only up a few minutes as well. Once in a while it happens.

 

Yeah. Maybe at some point I will do the bay thing again, but I have stayed away from it for awhile.

 

Back in September I attended our local coin show, and I got this old style case with Ike dollars for $40. It contained 5 silvers (71-74 & 76). All the silvers had dirty, rustic toning, which I really dig.

 

I wouldn't care if that was artificial. That looks good just the same. It is still an art to AT one and get nice results. I have a 22 peace dollar that is blue. I'm going to send it in one day anyway for the truview

 

Seller listed this for 189. I sent a lowball offer of 125 and he accepted! I'm thinking VG10. But that means it is probably VG08 LOL! But the 08/7 VG08 = 245 VG10 = 285! That what looks like a scratch on the right between star 11 and 12 is a crack on the flip it is in. The seller had posted a clearer obverse picture on the auction but after he accepted the offer I can't pull the listing up anymore. He sent me these on a message.

 

And I forgot about this one. I really only bought it because it was cheap, it was an Ike, and it has truview. And I wastrying to figure out what the charge was on my card but there was a discount applied. I had to go to the auction to see what was going on. 25.15 for it. I love truview!
