This 1863 is another Plate coin , I actually discovered this coin just about 4 years ago in a dealer friend Case. I would eye it up every show as I knew it was a winner. I was finally able to obtain it ,and if you like die cracks...you will love this reverse. It was on the costly side...but well worth the wait and price.
I say so and here speaking of errors and varieties I received this back in August while I was still recovering.
I ran into a fellow collector at a local breakfast haunt. He gave me this Cheerios cent in its original packaging. I managed to get a photo that minimizes the effect of the thick plastic bubble it lives in.
This is the most expensive low grade R3 variety I will purchase. But it's a Nichols Hoard variety with almost all in the XF+ grade range. The lower grades are few and far between. I'm waiting to see what the Grellman insert says.
