Just arrived today. Mystery stack (20) 1 ounce Silver coin BU .999 Random Design from Money Metals. And it's the 2021 South African Krugerrands ! That's actually perfect. I already have the 2018s, 2019s, and the 2020s
Recent purchase. Picked up for a nice price. Photos through a 2x2 although it didn't look too bad. @okbustchaser can you look at this and tell me what variety it is? No idea about the edge and didn't want to ask and arouse any suspicions. But I don't think it's a XXX edge. I can't really tell this one yet myself until it is in hand.
It looks to be an earlier die state of O-106 which will be the normal edge. But when you get it in hand look carefully for a die crack joining all stars on the left side. The prime die state (without the crack) is probably R-5 or better. Nice looking coin.
Nice thank you for that. I can't recall what varieties I thought it was off hand. I think it is pretty nice too!
1955 Doubled Die Obverse MS64BN PCGS CAC The prettiest one I've ever seen (most don't come this nice regardless of color designation). Enjoy! Kind regards, George
Also Dave's bust half site says there's an example of this variety with a XXX designation. I think I had read somewhere there were some of these that needed checked because the planchet got mixed up and some varieties could have different edges than what they were supposed to. Possibly the bust half fever book mentions that? I'm glad I didn't prod this seller to check the edge. I only gave 195 for this. I have been looking at 1809 for a while and I never saw another nice one under 300. And even those are a stretch sometimes. It has departed San Diego last night on its way here!
A few coins came back home after time in a fellow collector's possession . . . A scarce 1914-S Indian Half Eagle . . . Another scarce coin, a choice BU 1880-S Gold Eagle . . . And a tougher 1898 Double Eagle from Philly . . . PQ coin, methinks.
Not so, CoinJockey73 because they were selected and packed with care. They will be my cherished possessions.
