This is a raw Lincoln I bought last week. I have no idea if PCGS will grade this or not -- but I just LOVED the reverse color and toning pattern. I will send this to PCGS and see what they say.
:smile I did not buy this but a buddy who re-stores home found this cellar along with a few steel cent + 4 buffalo nickels 1 was 1913-P but 191_ of date was visible. but the 42 Mercury maybe a 1942/1-P its damaged from being in with cent+ nickels in a glass jar 20-45 year? But did make 1 mistake I gave him a red book he sure the Mercury is the over date.I think it is to but won't clean it? :kewl:
Jello, that looks nothing like the 42/41. No sign of the one (It's far stronger on the Philly coins than the Denvers) and no doubling on the bottom of the main part of the 4.
Jello that looks like some sort of 42/ 2 overdate or something. I was just going to mention (although it is currently being grade, and could be a 1950's counterfeit) that the 1942/1 that I found in a roll had a deffinate line that extended almost if not to the curl in the 2, and downward past the base of the horizontal line in the 2.
I've been collecting the Indian Cent varieties/attributions lately. My latest acquisition was an 1891 overpunched date - Snow 3:
My addition to the family! Came today ya! I opened the drawer and my jaw dropped! Only in my dreams fellas (of course I dressed it up a bit, did get the frankie fbl in the mail also ). I have to accumulate some barber halves and quarters to present it from that era!
Picked an unattributed ICG MS65 1972 Type 2 IKE off ebay for $49.99. It would never achieve that grade at either PCGS or NGC. More than likely MS63-MS64? The coin has some excellent luster but some fairly decisive hits on the neck and near the date. A guy could hope right??

Heres my latest. I am dabbling in Wheats so I decided to start out with a circulated collection. If all goes well I am thinking of upgrading to uncirculated. Heres my newest arrival via USPS today, 1909 circulated, grade unknown. To date thats 49 down and 91 to go!---John
You could say that again! I'd call a solid 63, but Ikes ALWAYS grade higher than I would think. Sweet pick up, none the less.
Upgrading from a circulated collection of Lincoln's to uncirculated? That'a a heck of an upgrade, best of luck to you in your endeavor and we look forward to seeing more in the future! If all goes well I am thinking of upgrading to uncirculated. [/QUOTE]
