I hear you on the toning, but the grade and look of the reverse just nailed it for me. I'll put it in a self slab with the reverse forward. Wilhelm will get a bag over his head . . . Z
My wife did not like this one. Some folks find it controversial, what with the Civil War, slavery, and treason associations for those depicted. Perhaps some things are just so evil that time does not diminish them. But that's not why I have it. I like the artwork - after 95 years it should be just a coin.
Pretty freaky . . . . . . Reminds me of a Hobo Nickel that arrived today . . . . . It's entitled, "Cold Winter Wind" You can see Jefferson's ghostly mug peeking out from behind the tree . . . . . . Z
This super "Woody" 1864 bronze came in the mail a couple of days ago. I got this for $10.71 + shipping. The first time I photographed one of these I got the same results as the seller did so I had the idea it was a much nicer coin than represented by his pics. I am glad I took the chance. The second pic is from the auction.
The 1861 IHC I'll crack out and put in my 7070 The 1905 IHC just may go in one of my contest The 2020-W PR ASE all 5 arrived today 1 for my old to new reverse set and the other 4 for my grandchildren. PS I still think the grading companys should put the labels in so they are readable. Like I did by using PhotoScape.
