    Bought it on eBay for like $120. Guy stated it was a 1849/8.

    It made me buy it. It is the siren call of early copper.

    BTW, It is probably the 11th known of this variety. Obverse was paired with 6 reverses, but this is the only pairing for the Reverse.

    Cherrypicked a scarce variety I've never found before. FS-101 DDO 1868, Snow 1. Maybe one of the reasons I've never found one before is how tight the doubled die is. I imagine you couldn't pinpoint it in anything under XF45ish.

    The US Mint label inside the box for the silver proof set is silver. While the gold set has gold lettering.
