Exactly. obv= Star 7 points to band and 6 is high; rev= line 1 of stripe 2 extends to crossbars... I had it on my watch list but suddenly it was gone :-/
I got this Indian Head Cent proof as part of a deal for the Liberty Seated dollar. It was graded as Details - Spot Removed. I’m not sure where that was. I could have left this in the holder, but I could not see past the reflection on the holder to see the reflection off the proof surfaces. It certainly did not enhance my enjoyment, so it got removed. Edit: I almost forgot to post this picture. It’s not that I hate slabs. I look at them more like packaging. When I buy salmon at the grocery, it comes in an impregnable hard plastic tray with shrink-wrapped plastic sealing it in place. OK, I know it’s safe and I trust it. But then it’s impossible to enjoy it in the package and that package has to come off. So how is it different if I cannot put my coin in an album or see its reflectivity while it’s in its package? The packaging is somebody else’s idea of what to do with the coin, not mine. While I respect what they are trying to achieve, I can’t let that get in the way of what I want, either. It’s ironic, in fact, that I avoid buying coins in certain grades because I know I won’t enjoy them in their holders, and the cost makes me unlikely to take them out. Surely that’s the opposite of the intended effect.
My suspicion is that the removed spot was in the field next to the chin since there is a break in the luster between IT and the chin. But it was well done and I could be wrong. But I'm glad it was removed from the tomb.
Well it's got 2 hours yet, but I'll probably be the winner. My latest is in transit 1941 walking liberty half for $12.50. I think I have someone who wants it for $16.
1935 S MS 65 Peace Dollar. It’s well struck and full of luster. I’ve always been a fan of this date,& I’m quite pleased to own this coin.
