Just picked up my birth year proof set from a LCS. Here is a quick tablet photo. As I walked in he was working in some unopened proof sets. I checked the bid board and picked up a couple of silver world coins at just below spot. Then I noticed the year on the box of proofs 1963. I said hey that is the year I was born. He said I got this in today, an unopened box of 25 sets! He was opening each one looking for cameos. He let me have the pick of the 25 for $18. $1.50 over melt! He also let me have the original box. Not the best pictures but the coins are awesome. 57 years in storage and just opened about an hour or two ago. Note the shipping label. I have no doubt that the box is original. The envelopes themselves were sealed as well.the way the tape is on the box and the label over the tape make it impossible that the box was opened and resealed.
I really like that burnt orange toning. Got this one in yesterday. The D mint mark isn't visible in this photo, but under the scope I can make it out. The light angle has to be just right.
I got a couple of new coins. One is an 2019PCGS MS69 Mexico Onza Silver Libertad. The other an 1927-D Peace Dollar.
So after my last submission to a TPG I'm back to self slabbing. This time it's the colorized BBHOF 50c. I used 2 gaskets then super glued the pieces together and made my own label
