I've never been one to collect modern slabs but I have been on a roll buying Sacagaweas and miscellaneous coins like this.
This was cherry picked by the keen eye of our @Paddy54. He saw it for sale, and notified me of the variety. It’s not the first time he’s done that for me, but this might be the best! (Thanks bud!)Here’s a fantastic 1858/1858 Half Dime. I tried to improve on the seller's pics, but couldn’t:
This was a bitter sweet pick. Look I'm tickled pink that Nathan got the coin.....what he failed to mention thus rub salt in the wound....is this variety is my WHITE WHALE!!! I have hunted this variety for the last 20+ years at shows on e bay...etc etc. However Nathan youre a good friend and not having the capital to make the purchase I am very happy to know its now in your collection. I am not a envious person I'm always pleased to know that something I did made a difference ....no matter the size....big or small... it is the small things you do for one anothers that really count. Another saying my dear mother taught me was expect nothing and be glad for what you receive. And thank you Nathan for your friendship and post above. You made a difference here today....believe me, However if it should ever be on the block.... first dibs.... As well @lordmarcovan the 1853 quarter newp of yours....first dibs...
I haven't posted in a while with this toilet paper apocalypse going on. I'm only working one job so my finds are a little lacking. All of these came out of bank rolls. Out of several rolls of pennies I found these 10 1964 Canadian pennies. these all look brand new. I have found a couple of groups like this in the past. These were a little rough, a 1961 and a 1923 Mercury This 1907 was rough but I don't see Indian Head pennies in rolls to often anymore.
These were passed off as gold dollars to another associate. I new right away but had never seen these before and thought they were cool so I bought them from her as if they were dollars.
They look like the Shell Oil presidential collection tokens. The original series of promos began in the late 1950s, I believe. There must have been a follow-up series later, since I see you've got LBJ there. That's the most recent president I've seen on one of these. They're neat. I've found four or five of them over the years while out metal detecting. In nice Uncirculated condition like that, for the buck apiece you paid, I reckon that's about right. Edit- here you go.
Got this 1881 Seated Liberty Dime today. Purchased from (and photo courtesy of) Gerry Fortin Rare Coins, from whom I am a first-time buyer. Very satisfied.
One of the two 1938 Washington Quarters has been found, this one an MS-66 per PCGS. The 1938S version is playing you cannot find me.
