Went to a coin show. Picked up a variety of things. I won't post the numerous Lincoln cents here (as they can be found in the Post a Lincoln thread). Goal 1: upgrade those six pesky F Mercury dimes to VF or XF. Well, I found one...dealers really should stop melting these things. Goal 2: Pick up either an MS 63 1948 P or 1952 s Franklin Well, this one looked awesome in the dealer's light, but when I looked at it under my light it looks very dull. Still somewhat bummed I fell for it, but lesson learned. Goal unaccomplished. Goal 3 pick up something fun and random-can't complain for $15: Goal 4: Lincolns from 40s and 50s...see Lincoln thread.
I recieved this a couple of days ago direct from the Royal Mint. I found it hard to photograph as the entire coin is in a proof like finish with no frosted areas at all. All highly polished including the legend and the details.
Got another toned Morgan 1896 I usually don't buy raw coins this heavily toned, but it was from a coin store I trust.
i traded a buddy tonight for a few things, got 5 standing liberty quarters for 5.00 each 1925, 26, 27, 28s and 30 got a 1827 capped bust dime for 30.00 and a 1963 franklin half for 12. i traded him my 1883 seated liberty dime g-4, 1869 sheild f-12 nickel, 1882 sheild g-4 and 20 bux for everything i felt it was a fair trade. ive been wanting his extra 1827 dime for awhile now. if i have time on sunday ill post pics cody
I like the Coin Collecting token but I would add "Enthusiasm"! And for that matter, maybe "Scholarship"!
Hey I know Gene! My boss, Doug, deals through him when he IS looking for a coin. Last time I saw Gene was at the Sacramento coin show, my first show. My latest acquisition is a simple 1964 quarter. However, earlier in the same week it was a 1964 dime, and I didn't even find them from roll-searching! Still working on getting that elusive 1932-D...when the wife will let me =/
You need to buy her something really nice. Then, when she says, "How can I ever repay you?", you can say something like....."I've had my eye on this killer 32-D".
