Leave it be. I love the old green pcgs holders. And people pay a premium for them

Got a dozen or so newps too I’ll pick up and photo tomorrow or Saturday when I’m home. Wholesale trade today was really strong and was slammed for the first couple hours I was there after which I walked the floor for the rest of it

1852 Large Cent. I am trying to collect all the varieties for this date. I was doing this with raw coins, but, this one was priced nice.

Love the Gold CAC Merc!! What kind of a premium were they asking for that one? If you don't mind me asking?

It wasn’t bad I thought. I paid $20 over 67 bid for it. I sold it to another dealer right away too and it was still under $200 I see a lot of gold cac Mercs in 64 and 65 holders but not high grade ones Bought a super nice type one buffalo in a NGC fatty that I’ll send to New Jersey soon too

Mercs seem to be the most common gold stickered series out there both with NGC and PCGS slabs. They must have stricter standards on mercs relative to other series.

Have you ever come across any pre-33 gold with a gold sticker in at least MS63? I've only seen them on 60s and 61s (also circulated examples) since they used those grades more often early on. Never seen one on a 63 and I can't even get a green bean on any of my gold coins to save my life, can't imagine finding a gold one with the muchhhhh stricter CAC standards for gold.

Not a lot of marks either and a super tough date. Will be heading to New Jersey hopefully for a green bean

Nothing high grade that I’ve seen. I agree. Usually it’s au or low ms. You can look at the cac population report to see if any exists I just looked. In 2 1/2 liberty there’s one gold cac 64 and 4 in 65 across the series

I think I'm done even attempting to send over gold. I just got results yesterday of another submission and one was a PCGS 63+ $10 lib. Nice satiny luster with no breaks, less contact marks than most 64s I've seen. Nice original looking MS coin with no issues I can see whatsoever and still didn't pass. That's one of my most comfortable series to grade too.

Point being is when you see CAC pre-33 gold it's worth the premium because he is TOUGH on it, you will most certainly get a great coin. I own 2 that had stickers on them already and they're definitely all there and two of my favorites for sure.
