Picked up this nice Booker T. Commem for a good price. It has nice surfaces, but just a hint of toning.
Traded in a few quarter eagles to grab this one since in my completely beginner/non-expert opinion that no one should listen to I really feel $10 eagles are undervalued right now. Has one of the poor quality PCGS photos attached to it on their site unfortunately but I was able to capture it decent enough on my own.
The reverse looks really 3D on this one- like the eagle is flying in the clouds with the sun behind them. Awesome.
This is one of those coins that makes you glad you got into the series. Yes, the reverse is incredible.
Just arrived in the mailbox, and immediately went to the camera. It's hard to capture the cartwheel luster because it's just so darn shiny!
Today my first ever gold coin arrived! I had an 8% eBay bucks offer last weekend, so I ordered a random NGC MS-63 $10 Liberty head eagle from APMEX. I really wanted a San Francisco mint coin, so I attached a message stating that I would prefer one if they had one available. They said they'd do their best, which I appreciated! I was very happy when I opened the box to a very nice looking 1901-S eagle. I'm not the biggest fan of the old-style NGC slabs, as I like to be able to see the edges of a coin. I thought about getting it re-slabbed, but the turnaround time is a big lengthy for my tastes, so I will likely keep it as it is. I just wish I could make the coin more even - the bottom of the coin is tilted to the back of the holder. All in all, I'm very happy with my first gold purchase!
You're brave! I've seen some nice example coins from them but have a hard time buying anything sight unseen. Glad it worked out.
You shoulda asked for a CC! Nice coin, I've been really into the $10 libs lately as well have picked up 3 in the last few months lots of nice examples out there for reasonable prices.
A very original better date 1852-O half dime . . . An original 1936-S Rhode Island Commem . . . A conditionally rare AU 1847 Dime . . . A conditionally scarce 1904 Ten Lib . . .
Ran into a local dealer today that sold his shop about five years ago. Started talking and he knew I liked love tokens, told me he had some. I've always wanted a love token necklace or bracelet. It is mostly American coins with a few foreign. He also had regular ones as well so picked them up as well.
