This is from my first ever live auction. Had about 20 total coins I was interested in and most opened at higher than my max, so that was disappointing but I guess I was a little over-conservative. Oh well, learned a lot and will use that towards the next one. As it was, this was the only coin I grabbed.
Got lucky. Thought I was gonna get skunked today but pulled a well worn 1897 Barber Quarter before calling it quits for the day.
Do you metal detect? I buy coins from time to time too but nothing beats finding them in the ground! All fate at that point so no fear of over paying. (lol)
I won this 32-S last week from a David Lawrence auction. I’ve had great experiences with DLRC. They had rated it ***** eye appeal. I picked it up for $175 below my bid… It’s definitely a buyer’s market right now in this series. This coin last appeared in a Heritage US Coin Sig. auction in 2013. As pictured in 2013 (Heritage Photo): It received a CAC nod following. In hand, and as I’m attempting to portray below, it displays booming luster and a golden hue: The coin has a distracting hit on Washington’s forehead and a minor graze in the East field. I feel it has a very pronounced strike, given the date, and is strong for its grade. Here it is up close and cracked from the slab: The coin does have a number of “oddities” the previous photos do not portray. I plan to seek others’ opinions on this in a future thread. Thanks for looking! Amazing coins everyone.
