    2023 Germania 5 Marks, M/A, 38.6mm, 1 Troy ounce .9999 silver, Germania Mint---private.

If you look at 9:00 you'll see a rock formation with Norse Runes inscribed in it. The top one is Tiwaz named after the warrior God Tyr. The Tiwaz rune represents law and justice as well as sacrifice. Typically the sacrifice was that of the individual for the whole. Yeah, that's different. And so it was that Tyr sacrificed a hand to chain the wolf Fenris.

The lower rune is Uruz, named after the extinct Auroch bull. Uruz represents strength, power and endurance. It will also boost the strongest aspects of runes that are next to it.

Norse runes were used as an alphabet, for divination (especially before a battle) and for spell casting, also, especially before a battle.
I'm curious how things went for a spell caster if a Viking battle went badly?

The double headed eagle on the reverse is the crest for the Germaina Mint.

I like to keep my slabbed coins in a binder.
So today I made a special page for my KOCT 2017 50 mm token.
Sure it's not perfect maybe a little cockeyed but what do you expect from a old man.
It's nice to be retired and have time to do crap like this.:D 2017 KOCT 50 mm special.jpg

Purple Shaftieuland fantasy coin, C/A, brass, thin planchet, 38mm, 13.52 grams

Coin Dealer Bob Kolosa created the Micro Nation Purple Shaftieuland as a way of mocking the proliferation of Non Circulating Legal Tender Coins. Ha ha, it would get much worse after 1970.

Other denominations were the Half Shaft, Quarter Shaft, One Twist and One Nudge.

Oh here's one of them rare 1849 California counter tokens, the biggest clue for me is the O in California is a lot bigger than the non rare ones! Top two pics is the rare token and then there's two pics with the non rare and rare together for comparison, then on the bottom is the rare again, just sharing! :D

The Pan-American Expo. medal (first image) lists "bicycle face" as something the medal will prevent. That sure smelled like a pile so I had to look it up. Apparently when the bicycle was invented people worried that the "wimmins" might start using them to stray from the kitchen. So they invented a bicycle disease.

A couple of these I got within the last two weeks but the others are from a long time ago! :cigar: The Mayan Plumed Serpent is Quetzalcoatl God related so I'm hoping for good luck! :D

    Quetzalcoatl god
    Featured snippet from the web

Quetzalcoatl (/ˌkɛtsəlkoʊˈætəl/) is a deity in Aztec culture and literature. Among the Aztecs, it was related to wind, Venus, Sun, merchants, arts, crafts, knowledge, and learning. It was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood.
