Liverpool Farthing Token, Sidney Hellewell, vulcanized india rubber merchant Here's a happy little British token. From the Liverpool vulcanized rubber merchant Sidney Hellewell. it was manufactured and in use circa 1850's - 1860's. It's 22mm and made of gilt brass. Enjoy . . . . . Z
Got a new 'keep your powder dry' Token, the first one is my old one and the bottom one is my new 1918 showing France! When these Tokens first came out after WWI they weren't terribly popular, but now they seem to be getting fairly popular, at least price wise!
Here's an 1883 Token that was delivered to me today, quite a wait but that's okay! It's a Knights Templar Token supposedly minted by the US Mint in Philadelphia. Apparently the US Mint used to get all kinds of private sector jobs. This one really shows it's age and it doesn't look much different than the sellers pics!
I just picked this up at last weeks CNG auction. They don't do a lot of US coins/tokens. I think that helped me pick it up at the opening bid. What is confusing to me is that this token sold at a Stacks/Bowers auction in 2020 for double what I paid for it. PRE-FEDERAL ISSUES, George Washington tokens. Diameter: 27mm Soho (Birmingham) mint. Dated 1783, though struck circa 1820-1848. Laureate and uniformed bust left / Liberty seated left, holding olive branch and Liberty cap on pole. Vlack 8-E; W-10220
Found the photos of my Chattanooga @alurid But I was able to find nice examples of a few others. Chattanooga is a tough token to find in really good condition. Z
The same exact token, Chris B, or was it a different exmple? If it's the same one you got a great deal. Bruce
I guess I'm really stretching what is "exonumia", but see the vehicle registration "token" from 1915.
Nice, here's mine! Also, some Native American Tokens to add to my indigenous page! Oh, and my first Lord of Baltimore Token and my LDS Token!
