I would love to find a website that illustrates the different varieties. Whoever was the engraver for those had a keen design sense. Z
On the link I had in this post numista has all listed and at the end of the info a icon of a camera scroll over it and photos popped up on my puter
Here's a couple of more I added to my collection recently. First up is the 1944 naked babe, the mechanic's show piece!
Here's a few more, my collection is broken up into small categories but mostly it's just what catches my eye! The first pic is an A.B. Van Cott Token from the 1850's with an error on the reverse. Racine, Wisconsin to "Racim", very rare! The 1964 happy/sad Medal is a fairly scarce one as well!
A new addition. First encased IHC. Quite sure the coin was gilded before being encased. Whitehead & Hoag. Newark, NJ.
New addition. circa 1930, 5.68g, 26mm, TC# 560160. Some of the Kendall tokens where made by Grammes Inc. Allentown PA. This one has no makers mark, And I believe it to be lacquered.
I've had this one for a little while, but just got around to taking photos of it. It's a very alluring design methinks . . . . . Z
My next installment for your token and culinary enjoyment is this fine British token for Bovril. Bovril - 50 Times More Nourishing Than Meat Extract How can one resist? The finest in bronze, advertising the finest in ox squeezings. Known affectionately as "liquid cow" Bovril can be enjoyed as a spread, or mixed with swamp water for the finest in bovine tea. This thick and salty meat extract paste has been a staple of the British Empire since the 1870's and is still available at fine stock yard feed stores today . . . . . Get'yerself a jar . . . . I was surprised to find this much information on an obscure little token. http://www.wascanabadminton.ca/history.html According to article's historic timeline this token was made after 1934 to be name the Winter Club. Not the 1931 issue of 100.
Arrived today and even nicer in hand. I'll be sending it ANACS to re-holder and have the train out front as it should be.
And a few more from Ron Landis . . . . . . Split the incoming between Exonumia and Newest Acquisitions . . . . . . Z
