Probably an arcade token from a pachinko parlor or arcade outside of a US military base celebrating the bicentennial
I was searching 2 big bags that I have of Lincoln cents for an elusive DblDie. No luck, but I found this nestled in the bunch. No idea where it came from. It's been hiding for 20 years or so in the bag.
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces62657.html considering the History Channel started in 1995, I don't think this was struck up in 1976 but sometime more recent. The History Channel Club was started in 2003. so likely at some point after that and sold or given to members, maybe as a set or something.
This is intriguing to me. I found it going through some old bins of coins handed down to me through the family. Not sure of its origin or its history can be known. It is the size of a quarter, but much thinner. It has a coin "ring" to it when dropped or tapped against a hard surface or other coin. There appears to be lettering on the rim in one section, but is unreadable. The coloration of this, the edge lettering (very difficult to photograph), and coin "ring" make me wonder if this wasn't struck over another coin? Not sure if the coloration on the "obverse" holds any clues or not. What intrigues me, and probably whatever caused one of my ancestors to hold onto this, is that it bears the first initial of my last name. Enjoy. Z
Here's a few more! Since I'm too old to remember if I've posted these pics before, please accept as is! The Bill Dana, or José Jiménez, most will remember that funny guy from 1960's-70's, has never been posted before so that's a new one to this forum!
