    That's a nice counterstamp CoinHawkeye. These California Gold Rush era stamps are very popular.

    The Polhemus pieces are relatively common, unlike most western issues of the era, but still bring good money. It's a very popular stamp. Can you read the date? the San Francisco mint mark makes sense because their issues would have circulated widely in the west. Silver and gold were king, Very little copper coinage circulated out there.
