incuse I look at it now and see that it was hit so hard by a counterstamp on the obverse that it transferred to the reverse.

I think I now have a complete set of the plastic US coins. will have to look through the photo albums.

This medal is giving me a real headache. at first I thought the reverse was rotated about 15 degrees. Then while I was putting it in the flip it curled so that the torch and fasces formed an X instead of a cross but then the reverse was correctly oriented. So I left it in the flip like that but that is not right. For date on the obverse to orient correcty the torch and fasces have to be a cross not a X . So I think my original image is correct and it does have a rotated reverse. Now I have to cut it out of the flip and put it into a new one.

I think who ever designed that medal should have put a little more thought into the obverse. It looks to me like the central design and the outer border text should have been aligned better. I think they were trying to make an X not a +.

 

Also as I was at my friends LCS, I asked him if the group was still operating. It is not!
