There are still swastikas on the large elephants at the entrance to the Carlsberg Brewery - when WWII ended the brewery nearly had them sandblasted off.
Here is more than so may want to know about it. http://www.sageventure.com/coins/tokens.html Good luck tokens with the swastikas
I've heard that most of those symbols were for good luck. But I never heard that about a blackack. Unless it was good fortune to the SA troop using it to wup up on a commie.

Conewago Coin Club 1967, Conewago Township, Pa. MACO, antiqued silver, M/A, 18.7 grms, 35mm. I wish I knew something about this. I suspect Tish-Ko-Han is not a name but an Indian word phrase. Also, wiki shows four Pa. counties with a Conewago township. But...it's a nice looking medal.
Nice medal longnine! Apparently , the Conewago Coin Club is, or was, located in Elizabethtown, Lancaster Co., PA. Tish-Ko-Han (Tishcohan) was a chief in the Delaware tribe in the early to mid-1700's. The meaning of his name is "He who never blackens himself". Conewago is a Delaware word that translates to "at the place of rapids." Bruce
Here's a nice 39mm Columbus medal I dug out of my token box to show you all. I don't recall where I got it but I've had it for a long time. A good size and heavy with quality workmanship. It's not marked so I don't know who made it or issued it. Bruce
You're right Circus, they do get pretty "busy" looking when they try to cram too much on a medal or token. I think this one has about the right mix of design and field. Bruce
Here's a numismatist's token from the 1840's that I find quite attractive. Apparently it wasn't busy enough for Mr. Nightingale so he produced another version with a shield in the field!?
I like both of them too yarm. Actually, in this case, I think the shield improves the look of the medal though. Without it most of the design elements are crowded into one "corner". Bruce
1st MAW (Marine Air Wing) Same both sides. Stationed at Marble Mountain, Danang, Vietnam. Design same both sides. Plated brass, 6.5 grms, 24mm, VN2950c. The large S is not a second sega mark. It denotes staff. 1st MAW flew 7,000 sorties and unloaded 17,000 tons of ordinance at at the seige of Khe Sanh.
