This token has everything! It has ANA and Chicago Coin Club on one side and American Vecturist Association on other. It has addresses on both sides, a show date and a Good For. And it's half dollar size, perfect! It even has a mystery scratch on the Vecturist side going through the R in American. Only it is not a scratch. I don't know what it is. Under a 20x loupe I see three very thin parallel lines that appear to be incuse. And yet there is no evidence of those lines running over the top of the R. * * * Tangent: This probably sounds weird but I really love Tokens (or coins) that are crowded like this one. TheTexas commemorative is absolutely my favorite commen. They don't get more crowded than that one.
Maybe the scratch was a hair or something on the die when the token was struck? I had to look up what a vecturist is. Interesting how collectors of transportation tokens have their own term.
Thanks Jack. If it was a strike through though it should still show up on the R. That's what's really bugging me about it. No matter how many times I look at it I cannot see anything on the R.
On second thought you may be absolutely right. The R would be recessed so in order to see a strike through go through the R on the token, the strike through material would have to be pushed all the way into the recess in order to be at the top of the letter on the token. Maybe it was just not able to do that?
This is a difference in the photo editor app. Initial lighting and camera settings the same on both when photos taken.
Not sure what color your background actually is but consider finding something that won't mess with your camera's sensor. Also manually set your white balance. Go in the settings and see if there is a custom option.
Yep manual is the way to go and get the lighting in the photo the way you want (no editing in an app) One side has 1 sheet of paper diffusing the light (above) and the other has 2 sheets (below; other than the diffusion wraps I have on the lamps).
My goal when shooting is to do no more photo processing than to crop, combine, and resize images. I use Paint for my editing.
