Another thing might be the way the spokes flair at the ends. Seems like that would really work well at keeping the wheel in round. Maybe that is what he advertising, superior spoking?
It could be a wheelwright stamp longnine. I just don't know who came up with the idea and if its backed by any research. You find this a lot in attributions of counterstamps...more conjecture than fact I'm afraid. BTW, the weakness on one or the other side of the punch is common for these issues. I would guess that the large size of the stamp made it difficult to strike evenly. Bruce
I have quite a few new military tokens but only a couple photos and this one isn't a complete embarrassment . My focus is really Air Force but I thought the design and start cutout was cool. Cunningham lists it as TX340d.
2006 RCC one stick token. The stick denomination is the stick needed to beat a dead horse. Hammer strike, M/A , bimetallic copper ring, brass core, 14 grms, broard strike. Struck by Kyle Mutcher of Four Corners Coin & Currency, Manitoba, Canada. KJM-16RCC struck 9/10/06
Here's two nice encased coins I got from Jerry Adams from Keller, TX several years ago. These are two of the many personal issues he's had made over the years. He also counterstamped various coins "Jer. Adams / Keller, TX.". A nice 1955-D Lincoln Cent makes the first one even nicer. Bruce
I forgot I have a pic of one of Jerry's counterstamps. The "saddle" stamp is from an old set of 19th century punches in his possession. I think he told me there we're about 18 or 19 different ones. Bruce
Here's a nice medalet from the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. It's a nice size at 32mm and it looks to be brass. I think these are fairly common, but interesting nevertheless. Bruce
Wowzers, if only the people that had that medalet had known what that one symbol on the reverse would do to condemn so much of the century of progress into utter devastation only a few years later.
I remember that Kyle had made some small silver tokens earlier, ca. in the late 1990s and he had them when we met at the Torex show in Toronto then.
Yes I have one but it's too small for a cell pic. Those were the 1 Spark tokens. Still waiting for Metro's glacial movement connection to finish downloading Bruce's images.
Yeah, it was such a positive thing before that madman turned it into an ugly, horrible nightmare. Bruce
