HK 606 So-Called Dollar R-5 or 6 I’ve seen these struck with holes, and without. The coins with holes were made to attach this eagle pin. This is the second one I’ve seen with the eagle pin still attached. There is currently one on eBay for hundreds of dollars. I still can’t get over the low, low price I paid for this. It’s in Uncirculated condition.
Nope Just thought since I have come into a group of Masonic Items I would start a thread for them since on here and other forums questions come up about them. have 3 zip locs filled with tokens, that I haven't photoed or cataloged yet. As Monty Python said "Now for something completely different"
I have picked up this today. Appears to be a good luck medallion from the early 18th century. Measures just 15mm across and looks to be silver. Anyone know anything more about them?
Your piece is a lucky charm, Paddy. These were often worn by sailors who were very superstitious. It's silver as you guessed and often holed...yours looks to have a repaired hole or the start of a hole ...can't tell by the picture. I know of one on a dealer site that sold for $250, so they're apparently scarce. The portrait is Queen Anne, of course. A really nice "keeper", Paddy. Bruce
Thanks for that Bruce. Most of that was as I thought, but the value was a surprise. As for being a "keeper" I will probably actually move it on as it does not fit into my usual collection.
There are some really cool designs from California expo`s...I had to have this one ,and dang sure would of purchased the 1915 Pan expo above. That's one cool design...
A purchase from an estate sale. I talked them into showing me a small portion of what he had. This was the only thing that they would deal with me on. They just wanted to look the rest of it up, and make sure they were getting a fair price. But this was put together already came in the original box, w/ gloves and the instructions. Paid I think between 15 and 20.
