Encased 1904 Indian Cent - 1904 St Louis World’s Fair Good Luck I just received this encased Indian cent (for free). A friend of a friend thought I would like it (and I do). This 1904 is a popular encased cent and there are many listed on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=1904+Indian+Head+Cent+Encased+St+Louis+Worlds+Fair+Good+Luck+ Does anyone else at CT have this particular good-luck piece?
I'm gonna try One More Time to show only ONE view of each face of this medallion! Third time is a charm? This is one of eight miscellaneous medallions I acquired today from a local pawn shop selling out & quitting business. Sweet deal for the quantity; others will be posted here in the coming few days. When you get a UFO, a SeaHorse and a Mermaid on one slab of bronze, there's gotta be one heck of a story...Doesn't there? Rim is marked: "Medallic Art Co NY Bronze" & "The Society of Medalists 75th Issue-1967-Herring Coe, SC." Copyright
This might be a better place to ask... I googled 'FG token' and was shown the Boston Fairgrounds. Has anyone been there and noticed these FG tokens anywhere? Along with that, is there a 'Mike Endway' there? A google search turned up nothing for me. The third design element I see punched into this is a pattern: SSS * SSS * around its circumference. Has anyone seen this design on a token before?
Issue 75, 1967 by Herring Coe; Hippocampus and mermaid / BEYOND THE SKY AND BENEATH THE SEA ARE KNOWN BUT TO GOD AND FANTASY - flying saucer, $75. http://www.pauljbosco.com/som.htm he claims to have all of them for sale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Society_of_Medalists http://www.medalcollectors.org/Guides/SoM/SOM.html You can get the other million plus google hits, "The Society of Medalists" The artist got to pick the subject and style for their invitation only medal.
Looked in the amusement token book for Mass nothing listed, with either of the markings. Nothing under the letter only list or unknown list. Nothing in the tokens and medals book or the whitman red book for tokens either.
I really like a lot of those Society of Medalists medals... Edit: I've been going down a rabbit hole of medal information right now and I'm so excited by what I'm learning. Big thanks for sharing these links!
Here is the latest pick up out the treasure box 50% off box @ the LCS, it was noted that it was on a silver coin.

Most states and locals have laws that prohibit minors from viewing either live peepshows, or video's. These adult tokens, sex tokens or heads or tails tokens. Like this one called heads I win tails you lose.(flames are added for forum) If this violates the forums rules please feel free to remove it. are used in the adult arcade machines that are set up to reject coinage, This way they can control what and who is watching the equipment or live shows. So they stay in the law. since they have a person working the counter that sells the tokens. The designs are such that they are hoping that people will buy more to take with them, carrying them as pocket pieces. Same with the H&T tokens. I'm glad that I can buy them in lots from token dealers, as more people never have seen them in their natural habit of the adult book/arcade shop. So when I show them "A TOKEN" they want it or want to buy it on the spot! So that's the story on these tokens.
