Here's another REALLY interesting one... It is Nazi Concentration Camp coinage.

    20 PFG (pfennig)
Einsatz also known as Einsatzgruppen. They were the Mobile Killing units made up of the SS and police personnel.
    SS T.V. : SS-Totenkopverbande (Deaths Head Unit)
    K.L - "Konzentrazionslager" (Concentration Camp)

This coin is now housed in the Dallas Holocaust Museum... as I donated it to them.

OK... last one for today... One of my MOST PRIZED Possessions (I really need better pics)! This is a 1943 Theosophist Medal by Albert Wiss... It is filled with Magic Squares, and hidden meanings that I have YET to crack!

Some information I have found on the Medal is the Patent information - Copyright Numbers 33147,33148 by Albert Wiss of Garrison, NY. It says "America can down errors. Magic good luck war medal." I believe the Patent Numbers are as follows:
    Oct. 5, 1942; AA 412332
    Oct. 8, 1942; AA 412353

I have found an article about it... as someone had the Silver Version. Mine, though, is the original 40mm and 80g of 1.000 PURE GOLD. - you can find the article about it here, by Simcha Kuritzky - page 18 of the MCA Advisory Newsletter:

Have you translated the German writing? It is interesting. That is Victory Angel awarding a winner a wreath. Have you researched the date to see what significance it has referring to Paris?

It Celebrates the Battle of Paris - on March 31st, 1814, the French surrendered, ending the War of the Sixth Coalition (Russia, Austria, & Prussia against the French Empire) and forcing Emperor Napoleon to abdicate and go into exile. Roughly, it translates to "and gave Europe peace and happiness by moving into Paris"

I just can't find one that has the same Obv/Rev as this one!

The Royal Humane Society began awarding medals to honor life saving efforts for victims of drowning or asphyxiation in the 1770's. This is an example of the large size medal engraved by T. Pingo awarded in 1806. Although the obverse lens is cracked with a couple of chips, the medal is intact.

I took my family there about 6 years ago, its a hotel, acrossed the street from the amusement park. It was probably a REALLY NICE place back in the 70s-80s. Today, not so much.
Must be a scarce token, as i live about 1 1/2 hours from there and thats the 1st one ive seen.

I was just informed by a member of the Token and Medal Society (TAMS) that the following Masonic Penny token has a possible legend error which may or may not be intentional.

Masonic Penny San Francisco California - California Chapter 5
    Bronze, 31mm, 12.46gm

    Obverse:
California state seal in wreath / CALIFORNIA CHAPTER NO. 5 R.A.M. / ONE PENNY / EUREKA
    Reverse:
    HTWSSTKS emblem / A.I. 2385 (AD 1855) / CHART-ERED APR. 30, 1855 / SAN FRANCISCO

The "HTWSSTKS" emblem means "Hiram of Tyre, Widow's Son, Sent To King Solomon".

Most Masonic Penny tokens have the HTWSSTKS legend clockwise but this token has it counter-clockwise.

    :)

Asian style porcelain casino gaming chip/betting chip back in the 70's they were a glut on the market. they were selling them cheap and by the stacks. I had no interest in them as I was into the casino chips, dice vegas type at the time. I didn't even buy one!

Anyone seen one of these before? The auction listing says it was made in 1882. lovetts williampenn treaty medal 1882.jpg lovetts penns treaty rev.jpg
