The token below is a first for me - it's fiber! I haven't done any research to see if it's listed in Cunningham. If it is I suspect Alaska as I've seen other Civilian mess tokens from there. The A.E. Schmidt Company is a manufacturer of pool tables and they've been around for quite a while. Wonder when they started making tokens?
It was only a matter of time before I ended up buying one of these encased cents. Dropped a small bid on eBay and was surprised I won it.
That's a nice token, Jack. I always liked the off "metal" stuff...hard rubber, plastic, white metal, tin, etc. It adds a bit of interest to the piece. It sets it apart from the standard copper or brass. Bruce
Another encased cent from New York's Stork Club: Stork Club New York encased 1945 Lincoln cent Obverse and reverse: Figure of a stork (bird) with a top hat STORK CLUB / LUCKY PENNY
Here's the ANA medal I picked up in Baltimore. It was issued in 2001. This is the first numismatic medal I've added to my collection in some time. As always, ANA issues are of the highest quality. This piece has a shade of rainbow toning, but unfortunately it doesn't show in my picture. Bruce
I've been picking these up whenever I find a good buy. Finally got around to getting pics and assembling the image below. A YN from my local club won a YN Best of Show for his Jackson Centennial Medal exhibit a couple of years ago. Every baby born in 1929 in Jackson received one of the ribbon suspended medals.
Just to let everybody know 3 days ago Something happened that I no longer can post photo's on here. The mods checked it out, the hosting service I use is Flicker, another member that uses taptalk also can't post photo's is anybody else having problems? Photo's look normal in the editing box, but go to the red X icons when posted. Same copy and paste works on two other coin forums.
One "workaround" would be to post the URLs along with the images. In the post by Circus above yours, that would be: https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5627/29913655324_7b82c418f2_z.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5824/30427594082_12305e4655_z.jpg Yes, I would also prefer them to be displayed in the message window as before. But as long as those issues persist ... Christian
