I think someone may have asked this before but I can't remember...are these engraved or overstruck? You'll have that boxcar in no time!
I gotta post this one for you, dwhiz. This was apparently used as an ID badge for someone named G.A. Bush, a baggage master for the A & GW probably in the 1860s or 1870s. The American & Great Western Railway or Railroad (both names were used at various times) was organized about 1852 and was finally dissolved in 1880. It's always difficult to get a good history on many railroads because of numerous mergers, name changes, ownership groups, etc. Whoever G.A.Bush was, he must have worked for the railroad for a long time, as the suspension hole in the coin is heavily worn This piece is interesting because it's both engraved and counterstruck. Only the name is counterstruck, while everything else is beautifully engraved. There's no hint of a date, as the design is completely smoothed off on the obverse. A lot of nice detail on the reverse though. Bruce
Ran across these Lincoln Cent dies from 1998 from different sellers recently. Couldn't resist. Two came with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Mint that showed the number of strikes at 996,000 for Philadelphia and 167,420 for Denver. The San Francisco die had no documentation other than a tattered newsprint partial article from a Coin World issue from 1998. The article supposedly covered the Mint die sale program that year. The P and D dies were defaced by grinding the design off totally. The S mint die was defaced by melting the surface, sort of looks like someone touched it with a arc welder. Philadelphia die #: P8-304404 Denver die #: D8-450440 San Francisco die #: S 1026 P

Its for the year of the monkey "Chinese Zodiac - Monkey. According to the Chinese zodiac, 2016 is the year of Monkey (Fire Monkey) starting from February 8, 2016 (called the Lunar Chinese New Year or Chinese Spring Festival) and lasting to January 27, 2017. So, Monkey is the Chinese New Year animal for 2016."

This was a bank in Rhode Island that was chartered by the board of trustees from Rhode Island Hospital. Founded in 1867. In 1998 the name was changed to BankBoston, which is absorbed by Fleet the following year. in 2005, Fleet Financial Group was absorbed by Bank of America. These do come up for sale, but I don't usually see serial numbers as low as this, so I grabbed it!
