I did a bit more research on Wing. The "Julian Mills" brand was his, and as a result he became a very wealthy man. Someone estimated at the height of his business career he was worth up to $50,000,000. WOW! What a pile of money that was in those days. Bruce
Bruce, I hope you're keeping records of all your work. I know how much more meaning research adds to my token collection and I think when the day comes when your stuff needs to be sold this information may bring higher prices.
It arrived today, I was concerned about the reverse side of the slab, but it's not as bad as the sellers photos. My photo
I photograph most everything in my collection and print anything I know on the back of the page. I also keep files on pieces I have more information on. Bruce
Just checked my ANACS order they have shipped (sooner than I expected) here are the grades: WINGED LIBERTY 10C 68 Antiqued STANDING LIB 25C 69 Antiqued WALKING LIB 50C 69 Antiqued WINGED LIBERTY 10C 69 Satin STANDING LIB 25C 69 Satin WALKING LIB 50C 70 Satin ( The 1st 70 on this item) I'm not surprised at the 68, my fault. But it's the first 70 I've received on a Dan Carr item
Nope nice shinning silver Phone case is blue, When I take photo's some days I'm the windshield and some days the bug. I can't seem to get the same looking pic's when I take them
Really cool looking Deshler Hotel fob up there, I have one as well but the kids nose on mine is all flattened out, still a keeper to me. lol Here's a couple of my new additions, one is from New Zealand-Milner and Thompson Christchurch, Maori Warrior Token, 1880-81, has a little funk on the reverse, oh well. ~Cheers!
So I'm a little sad that my thread with a bunch of tokens went unnoticed...it's ok. Things get burried quickly, especially if you're not posting about a die crack in some modern coin that millions are minted...sigh...oh well. I know you guys will enjoy a few of these:
well I and a number of others enjoy seeing them, I don't give a rat's backend about die cracks or toning or other stuff on spending money. I got what some would call a very nice toned state quarter in change today I was going to post it and tell em that it was going into a roll of quarters!
You are so right @longnine009 ! Who knows, maybe in 40 years these tokens will be all the rage! Here's a couple tokens. I can't remember if I posted them or not. AZ131 Davis-Monthan AFB, aluminum, unlisted KS370j, aluminum, 35mm, 2,000 ordered June 1969 ME120d, aluminum, 22mm ME120e, aluminum, 28mm ME120f, aluminum, 35mm This challenge coin was bought as a companion piece to my occupationally related challenge coins. The piece of equipment on the obverse is known as a fuel bowser. They're used to collect fuel from aircraft drains. This one in particular is designed to use suction to hold the hoses in place for bottom draining tanks. We used them at McChord and we're going to get some here at Mildenhall. It's a pretty neat device. I have it in hand but that's the sellers picture.
