Ah...hope I didn't get you excited...I just thought it was a cool piece with a sentimental tie-in and I got excited for you. I know nothing of who, when, or how many were made. I do like it though and I think you didn't go wrong for a dollar.
Got these in the mail today. The medals are 36mm 25g of 92.5 Sterling Silver. They all came with original packaging. I got all 3 for $22. I believe the melt to be a bit over $34 on these. Not too shabby.
I forgot that I picked this up yesterday at the LCS for 25c. I pulled it out of the box because I liked the shape. I bet this token has seen some things....
Like most co-op mechs the value could be adjusted for what the operator wanted. in the 70's I installed alarms on the coin op boxes in adult book stores peep show video, live peek a bo booth etc. and since there was no value imprinted on them they didn't have to have new ones each time they raised the prices. Some shops they were .50 each others were $1.00 or $2.00 each.
