Here are some new medals I picked up yesterday in Baltimore. The Salk Trail CC piece is really different in that the letters and numbers are punched out. It's hard to tell by the picture, but if you hold it up to the light you can see through it. I never saw a medal made like this before. I have about a half dozen of the Detroit CC issues already, so it's a nice addition to the others. Thanks for looking. Bruce
Here's one more from the show. Mr. Schwartz must have had a bit of extra money to spend on such a nice personal medal. High relief and very well executed. Bruce
Damn 9Ball that is a nice collection! I like casino strikes myself. I picked a $28 one from the swap meet a few weeks ago for 15 bucks (roughly the silver value). Got home and realized its a rare and collectable Aladin casino one and worth at least 80 bucks and up to 150
Here are a couple of my favorites (top & bottom right),although I added in an even more modern repo of of the steam press token(bottom left).
I thought this was really unusual for a coin club issue. It's a legitimate casino chip issued just for this show and good only for the duration of it. Can't call this a medal so I'll call it a coin club chip. First one I've ever seen. Bruce
Thanks Bruce. That's why I got the Hancock - the relief is amazing. I'm not a medal collector, but I saw the Hancock & really liked it. The Henry Lee was a bonus. $15 for both together was a good deal I thought.
