Found this yesterday, found out it has a mintage of 2500 so I went back today and paid the $8 they were asking for it.
Picked up this Carl Haas Civil War card from Steve Hayden. Not a particularly high grade coin, but it has a bit of rarity and it will find a home in the Ohio collection.
Very interesting. The address of this token appears to be the site currently occupied by the Carew Tower in downtown Cincinnati which is located at 441 Vine Street. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carew_Tower
Have no idea why the tokens are on a lead wire seal other than to kept them together since they are mixed states. Same both sides. And for those that may not know the numbers on the tax tokens, are not referring to cents tax. It is referring to mills which are 1/10 of a cent. Since most of these were used in the starting in the 20's/30's people balked at paying full sales tax on small value purchases.
@ddollard58 Nice Windsor knot. I never could get that right. You must be the Boats I talked with last year or the year before?

I know not exonumia related, but with the recent memories that have been brought up and posted in this thread. I thought the older members would enjoy these TV blast from the past when thier commericals were on the air! While cleaning out stuff in in mothers bathroom storage closet, I came across these two relics. I wonder how much they will bring on flea bay?
