Angelina's (my wife) Dad drove landing craft at Guadalcanal. He was wounded by Japanese aircraft fire and wound up spending the rest of the war in an San Francisco hospital. It was a miracle that he survived his wounds.......they had to remove three of his ribs and half of one lung. The dear gentleman died back in in '97 and he was a career Coast Guardsman. I gave this to my wife the other day, in remembrance of her dear Father. 76mm.....
Nice one I have only come across one spinner in the last year, don't know why they are hard to find around here.
I stop looking for them. I came across a few bar room spinners on ebay a long time ago but they were bid up way too high.
Yep i guess the one local shop and the people that had them at the flea markets all must have got their price from the bay. The dealer said that I'm the only one that has shown any interest. He still won't deal on them. I don't even bother asking any more!
Do you know how they used it? Was it like a tag and a record was kept of how much credit you were good for and how much you owed the store?
