Here's one of my favorite medals even though I don't collect them. It's struck on the Carson City press #1 back in 2010 it's 547/2010 if they sold all 2010 medals. And yes it's numbered and carries the cc mint mark. 1 oz of silver For the 150 Pony Express anniversary 1860-2010.
Couple of my favorites out the second swap box. This one is a bonus for the coin people as it housed the mints exhibit!
I like both of those, Circus. On the second one, do you know what the "F A / 10 11" means, and are the letters/numbers counterstamped ? Maybe the section of the building their exhibit is in? Great stuff! Bruce
Great stuff for sure. They made so many cool things for this expo. I started a small collection of them years ago but it got to the point that the prices were hard for me.
I too have a couple of other items along with some from other expo's These were along with the calendar in the swaps. since the pictures weren't good I was trading more on volume than the individual pieces. As to the counterstamp yes I think that it was added possibly the day they attended the fair or they did it when they got home. But it could be anything I will have to see if there is anything on my book about that expo. it has been so long ago that I read it I don't remember much of what it covered. I have to agree about the prices going, going, gone. If I don't buy other items I could save for them but I have too many interests. Better a couple of things in each area rather than one high dollar item that probably is worth the price!
The 1893 FOB is actually a well known fake/replica/counterfeit, that is being mainly sold in swap meets for anything between $1 and $5...
I really like oddly shaped tokens, like the scalloped billiard one you posted. That one has seen some use too!
