I'm a little late (internet is very bad here) but those are challenge coins and not from World War II. Infact, the Chief Master Sergeant one is very likely less than 10 years old...probably no older than 04. The other one...I'm less sure of. If you're interested in challenge coins I could dig up a really good reference for you on e-sylum.

I don't know what challenge coins are but they seem very interesting. I would like to see some information on them. Thanks.

Last Christmas my son told me he wanted Silver coins with Native Americans on them. He recently moved to Colorado and I found him a Silver, Colorado Casino Token with an Indian on it. Waiting for his next birthday. I think he will like it. Maybe I'll find the entire set by then.

I received two Sterling Silver United Nations proof medals today and one is very special to me.

1981 International Year of Disabled Persons - This medal is for all the members on Coin Talk who are disabled.

That's a nice counterstamp derkerlegand. I like the pictorial stamps, and have one or two with pigs on them myself. Also, roosters, dogs, lions, horses and other critters are sometimes stamped on coins. There are pig stamps known with the word "pig" stamped within the outline of the animal itself. I don't know the purpose of them, but they're interesting nevertheless. Thanks for posting your example.

Here's one of mine stamped with lions...or cats...roosters, and a pig. I don't know who Church is or whether he struck the farm animals and the center-punched "U" on the coin in addition to his name or not. I call this a risque or "adult" issue for not real obvious reasons. Think about the animal stamps and the placement of the "U" and you'll see what I mean. That's all I'm going to say about that...you know Doug's always watching.

I'm new here, but I thought I'd post one.

This coin was given only to Burlington Northern employees to celebrate BN's 25th anniversary. My dad (and several uncles) worked for BN. He gave me this coin to add to my collection. Interesting note; December 31, 1996, Burlington Northern merged with Sante Fe to become Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway. Name was shortened to BNSF Railway Company in 2005.

I've also included a card that was included in the packaging.
