These might qualify. My parents picked them up in the early '50's while on a business trip.

I've seen a lot of notched coins Mr.W, but yours is really unusual. I like it a lot.

What you think of my new EP ?

I just received this encased postage (in a trade) last Friday. The case states :Ayer's Sarsaparilla to Purify the Blood". IMO this EP is very bright and it is also somewhat old-looking at the same time. It's got some "zest" for lack of a better word.

I traded some duplicate (repousse / pop-out / embossed) coins for this EP. I'll search threads for "encased postage" or possibly start a new thread beginning with this new piece.

Please let me know what you think of it.

I'm certainly no expert, but I've seen a few Ep's over the years and they're pretty cool. Yours is in amazing condition. Almost too amazing...

    Thanks for the comment. :smile
This EP does have a small flaw in the mica. To be candid, the flaw makes me think that the mica has a higher probably of being original rather than being a modern replacement. I only know enough about EP to be dangerous. I did trade with a well known exonumia dealer which gives me a lot of confidence in this piece.

Nice EP Collect and in exceptionally nice condition. On a lot of these the mica is cloudy or cracked but not on yours. A real nice example of an Ayer's Sasparilla piece.

That is one nice deal. I traded a small set of repousse / pop-out / embossed coins like your Kennedy coin for the encased postage example that I depicted a couple posts up. You got a really nice deal for $3. :hail:

This is an unusual counterstamp I picked up last week at a small coin show in Burlington, NJ. The reverse of the Lincoln Cent is completely overstruck as a personal piece of the well known collector Moe Weinschel. Interestingly, most of the detail on the obverse is still readable. I have about two dozen such overstrikes in my collection all issued by various coin clubs, collectors, dealers and businesses. I like the look of this type of stamp. If anyone has anything similar to this please post them.

Trying to keep this thread alive. I just received these. I got the sterling medal at the sterling melt price, so I was happy with that. I really like the smile on Teddy's face!
