Excellent info Jack! It's Cunningham CA1880. There's also a good4 15c from Vandenberg. That would be a cool denomination to get.
Beat me too it longnine! I forgot to look it up last night when I got home! There's a plastic Vandenberg token up for auction right now that I'd like to have but the seller listed a bunch of token I want at the same time! Shame on him.
PM geekpryde and he will add counterstamps to the master list. His last update was in July. I know BRandM would make it his home.
Just saw this. Are you guys saying you want me to also list this exonumia thread specifically under "Counterstamps" as well, or is this another thread you want me to use under "Post Your Counterstamps"?
Good to see your new counterstamps Frank. The Roderick stamp is listed in Brunk as R-430 on an UK (unknown date) Large Cent. This may be yours but more than likely yours is an undocumented piece. He also lists "Jos Williams" as W-647 but doesn't say if it's on the same coin with the Roderick stamp. He may be talking about the same coin...yours. Unfortunately, neither one is attributed...the names are too common. Your "Coin" stamp is very nice and also listed in Brunk as C-681. There are four examples listed by him all on Large or small Cents. Yours is the first on a Half Dollar. The term "coin" indicates something made from 0.900 fine silver known as coin silver. This stamp was probably used by a silversmith or jeweler and was applied to his products to document their fineness. I've actually seen one or two examples of the stamp so their may be more than a half dozen or so still hanging around. The Emon piece isn't listed anywhere that I know of. By looking at it though, I think there may be more to it than what shows. It could be "Emond" or something similar. Thanks for posting them Frank. Bruce
Okay guys, I added one. Post a bunch now to get it off to a good start: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/cointalks-post-your-fill-in-the-blank-master-list-2014.248750/
Monthly gun show this weekend, went on set up day Friday. They had a new vendor there selling end of days stuff including a large assortment of copper rounds. At reasonable prices compared to the others that sell them. I had over heard two guys at a friends table. Talking about the Nam collectors round and POW round the one guy got and his buddy didn't have. so I went over to the guy that was selling them when the guy told his buddy which one. I picked up a couple of series. I will post them over the next couple of days. They are .999 ounce copper rounds. Can't seem to get the colors to come out
I would love to find some masonic stamped coins...good find. I know the cent is what is usually found but, I wonder how often they are found on coins that have Masons on them.....Washington, Franklin, Roosevelt?
