    these were issued by peter kempson who was a button manufacturer in Birmingham--mansion house official residence of the lord mayor.it stands on the former site of the stocks market,at the end of poultry lane.there is some doubt that these were issued as tokens,they were probably medalets

    Coventry free school-building originally a hospital founded in the beginning of the reign of henry 11-1154-1189 at the dissolution of the monasteries john hales purchased the chapel and converted it into a free school

    1795 Conder Token • Gloucestershire DH-60 • Gem Uncirculated

    I've searched for a great example of this issue for many years.
    This is the best I've run across, and the first fully uncirculated example.

    Obverse: Thames and Severn Canal, a sailing barge with plain sails
    Reverse: Entrance of a tunnel
    Edge: PAYABLE AT BRIMSCOMBE PORT

    Hi @RichUrich , nice token! Just for clarification, they are Conder tokens -- named after James Conder, not named after the big birds. :)

    No single website has photos of my entire Conder Token collection, Rusty, but many are pictured on Flickr, coinzip and Numismatic Society (numissociety.com) websites.

    Many of my Civil War Tokens are also featured on those websites.

    WIVELISCOMBE THREEPENCE 1814-R NORTH

    wiveliscombe a very small town on the edge of the Quantock hills in the west of England--now as in the 19th century you see very many sheep on the hills around the town--r north was a clothier.the town issued two three pence one two pence and a penny token
