    This was a nice find.
The 1840-O Half Dimes exist both with and without extra drapery at the elbow of Liberty. This example clearly shows the drapery, and is much scarcer than the variety without the drapery. The seller (and I) both missed that particularity.

    1840 O Half Dime wioth Drapery OBV2 N very good best - 1.jpg 1840 O half dime with drapery REV1 N little smaller good - 1.jpg

Very Nice! I can remember when the 1864 L wasn't a must have to complete the IHC set, now they are pretty popular. Without it you have to live with a empty slot in your Dansco . I think this variety might travel the same path.

Two examples of the 1858 'over inverted date' half dime:

It's a great variety but nearly impossible to cherry pick.

Years ago, you could cherrypick these all the time. It's the Snow-9. Die clash with the 50 cent piece.

These are my three favorite cherrypicks:

    1939 "Doubled MONTICELLO" Jefferson Nickel
    NGC MS66

Cherrypicked off eBay in an old (late 80's) NGC slab for less than $40.
