Ive bought and sold many struck through grease state quarters as well as a few presidential dollars. The state quarters are easier to find and dont go for much anymore. I sold one for $100 about a year ago. Know somebody who claimed to get over $200 for one. I have this one up on the cheap right now.
hey howard, I posted a pic of a strike through greese on a wisconsin on another thread, What do you think of it's value. Never circulated.., man I have 20+ and was thinking of sending them in---hum--cost---return---hum. what say you???? thanks1
Well, there not going for much anymore. Since NGC wont acknowledge a grade, or even acknowledge its uncirculated condition, I wouldnt send them in for grading. I have mine up for 40 right now and not even 1 watcher so....
From the same roll, I have several , all exactly the same uncirculated, so not pmd. ~FS-01-1960D-101, DDO and very wide RPM Normal issue of same coin.
When a coin is struck by dies, sometimes foreign material can be stuck in between. Grease seems to be present on the dies often, and under the extreme pressure of the dies, a liquid can act as a solid, clogging up parts of the die, and prevents the coin from receiving a full strike. It is common to see weakness, and sometimes full on omission, of the motto or parts of the design on a coin.
Hi! I am the owner of this quarter now, Won it on EBay a few days ago. Saw this post and could not believe it was the same NGC number slabbed coin!
