1826 O-102 1826 O-102, R1 The obverse struck using Obverse Die 2. This was the first of two uses of this die. It was next used to strike the O-103. This was the only use of Reverse B. (1) The 6 is sharply higher than the 182. (2) Star 7 points to upper edge of headband. (3) UN in UNITED is almost joined at top. (4) Top of second T in STATES is disjointed a left serif. Another XF? 1826 O-105 1826 O-105, R3 The obverse was struck using Obverse Die 3. This was the first of two uses of the die. It was next used to strike the O-104. The was the only use of Reverse Die E. (1) Date tall and close. Plain 2 with a needle like point. (2) Early Die States there are two prongs going diagonally off the top of the cap. (green arrow) (3) A very thin die crack from edge near end of bust joins all stars on the left. (red arrows) (4) Several lines of the stripes go upward into the crossbars. In the upper right corner where stripe 6 joins the bottom crossbar there is a short horizontal line extending right. I believe it is an uncleaned, natural toned, XF-45.
1826 O-106 1826 O-106, R3. Actually - if you want to split hairs - this is an Intermediate Die State from the Jules Reiver collection. The O-106 calls for no die cracks. The O-106a calls for two die cracks: (1) A die crack along the top of STATES OF A. (2) Another die crack through RICA and across arrowheads to 0 C. VF-25
