That is a wonderful note for a mere VF in grade - I would pay more for that one than some of the higher graded notes I have seen.

Thanks !....,the next note for sale was a EF in grade & was not as clean ,both graded by PCGS & both Fr122's so it makes no sense why this note didn't grade higher.

got this note at the international bourse in london in 2003 never thought of the signature as a hedgehog but as you pointed out it does look like one....lol

The signature is Rene Thion de la Chaume, perhaps his friends called him "hedgehog" for short
