This "Good Luck" coin conjures up scenes of New York City nightlife in the 1930's and 1940's.

Leon & Eddie's was a New York City nightclub.
It was run by two long-time entertainers, Leon Enkin and Eddie Davis.

The club featured entertainers including comedians, dancers, and strippers.
Some famous names performed there, including Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, Red Skelton, and Milton Berle.

It was located at 33 West 52d Street and had a back wall with caricatures of
Leon and Eddie thumbing their noses at each other, as depicted on the coin.

The club closed in 1953, and the building was later demolished

This good luck coin is most likely from the 1930's when "good luck" coins were popular.

I found it in the usual place.

    :)

Nice token willyboyd. Thanks for the picture and the history behind it. I love the history that these old tokens are a part of. Bruce

    A strange coincidence today:

I received the first Leon and Eddie coin on June 5.

Today (June 11) I went over to San Francisco to visit the Bank of California museum and
look at the Old Mint building.

I visited a local coin store and the dealer had a few exonumia items in a bowl for $5 each.

    One was this:

Yes, another Leon & Eddie coin!

This one is quite worn and may have been someone's pocket piece at one time.

Hey, who knows willieboyd it may have been carried by Leon or Eddie. You got to love those two guys...thumbing their noses at each other. Sounds like a fun place to spend some time. Bruce
