    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

And STILL virtually EVERY numismatic speaker claims the very opposite. How am I to process that? Or are you being intentionally provocative?

.90 gold wears quite well, sure. But Doug has just the one .999 fine gold of which to speak. Plus, I'm fairly certain that's the same pic he used to show us of this coin about 3 or 4 years ago in another thread where he talked about this pocket piece.

    How ‘bout .9167? That’s AGE’s. Buffs are .999.

It’s (his pocket piece) also lit with VERY diffuse light, which hides faults almost like magic. That’s why I asked if it was a flatbed scan. I’d like to see it under normal coin lighting. Can’t mess with a photo guy.

Plenty, particularly with staple scratches or other scratches which is a huge pet peeve of mind. Over all CAC does a good job, but it definitely has its quirks.

No I'm not trying to be provocative at all Kurt. And how are you to process that ? How about the same way I did, put one in your pocket, carry it for several years and find out for yourself !

As for the picture, I took it out of my pocket and laid it on a piece of white cardboard on the table and took the pic with my Nikon. No muss no fuss, it's just a picture.

It's the same picture I've posted a great many times, and for a lot longer than 3 or 4 years. It's also a coin that several forum members have seen first hand, and more than once. And some of them even saw its predecessors, the other AGE's I carried in my pocket, each one for several years. And some of them have even seen me spend those coins at coin shows when I would run out of cash. And then as soon as I got home from the coin show, I'd go out and buy another one to replace the one I spent.

All in all I carried an AGE in my pocket for close on to 20 years, this particular one lasted the longest - 7 years. The others, 2, 3, 4 years each. The wear patterns were always the same and never changed except by degree per time frame.

    See this picture -

The guy on the right is JD White, the admin of WINS (World Internet Numismatic Society) the guy in the middle is known around here as Arizona Jack, and the guy on the left is known around here Cave Troll, (Chris Dykstra) he used to be mod here on the forum. And he is also now one of the senior guys at Heritage.

All three of them have seen that actual coin, in hand, numerous times. It cost Jack dinner the night that pic was taken at the ANA show in Phoenix when he lost the flip for the bill. And he actually owns the coin now as he bought it from me about a year and half later (2009) when I offered it for sale to members of this forum. JD, he's seen several of those AGE's I carried over the years, seen me spend them too.

Any and all of those guys can verify everything I've said about this coin here on this forum. So anybody that doesn't believe me - ask 'em ! They're easy enough to reach.

What I was asking (without asking), is that of you still had the coin, update the picture. Because it had been taken many years ago.

I was hoping for an AU-55 when I sent this in. I got MS-62.

Come to think of it, I sent in a 1920 Buffalo that I thought was 55-ish, and that one came back 62 also.
