I´m too tired to do a writeup (it´s in the middle of the night here), but here is my Lego interpretation of Marcus Aurelius´ city gate of Augusta Trevorum (I had attempted the front facade before but here is the whole thing):

Where do you even get the legos for these things? Really nice build.

Why is one side taller than the other?

Thank you everybody! As a bonus I added the ancient city wall today:

Because someone during the Middle Ages wanted to make it look more like a church...

Nice work @Julius Germanicus. Quite a lego maestro you are. When thinking about the "black gate" it often reminds me of the Tolkien one, at least in name.

...And meanwhile, @Julius Germanicus, never mind that you are the Mozart and Miles of Lego --a true prodigy-- thank you for the history lesson. It would be embarrassing to try to reconstuct where I got the idea that this was mostly 4th century. Had to (sorry for this...) Wiki it.
Massive thanks for your unfailingly enlightening and generally amazing contributions.

Very well done. It was instantly recognizable, which is the sign of a great model!

I was disappointed that I couldn't actually climb up stairs when I was in Trier a couple of years ago so I joined a march that was celebrating Karl Marx's Birthday... afterall he's the local boy made good?

    Great Models too!

Isn't it thoughtful of them to think of the future, & leave space for a bus to drive right up next to it? :D:joyful::joyful::joyful:
