Got no new coins to share due to the lockdown...

To kill some time, I tried to reconstruct Augustus´ Temple of Peace in it´s original color scheme in 1:50 scale:

    Thanks for looking!

Is there any coin showing this artifact?

    Always great sets.
I think FFIVN and I will work on a Star Wars set in honor of May the 4th today.

Great job, always impressive. Do you keep them set up or break them up for future builds? Arapacis.jpg

The last week before the local library makerspace shut down we helped a patron print a custom Lego head to fit with official minifigures. I had hoped to do some of them but that was months ago. There are rather few online but the idea seems adaptable --- assuming any of us recall how to operate the printers if they reopen.

May not be as pretty or as colorful as Julius Germanicus' , but it's the Ara Pacis none the less.

That’s incredible. You can actually see the detail in the reliefs. And it’s also marked as this.

Absolutely amazing, and definitely an invaluable historical connection

I had to scrap the Theartre of Marcellus in order to build the Colosseum, but since then I kept most stuff and my monuments are slowly taking over the living room shelves. I am still looking for a universal scale. The Minifigures are close to 1:50, but that is not practicable for larger buildings like the Panthenon which I am designing right now.

I wish someone would offer a set of custom made Lego heads for a variety of Roman Emperors :).
It is even hard to find genuine Lego Roman Legionnaires nowadays. Originals go for 20 USD a piece now and on ebay you get mostly chinese fakes.

What a beauty! It seems to show that the Ara Pacis originally had a two-winged door (made from wood or bronze) of which no traces are left today.
I will see if I can find or create one for my building.

Does anyone know if the building originally had two entries (with or without doors)? There seems to have been only one set of outside stairs and the Altar is facing to the other side.
