Leaky Washington Quarter

    Okay what part of a
    So what you're looking at the black cud on the quarter(pix attached) somehow looks different then the one on mine? As long as the die break or whatever starts at a coin's rim
    It is called a cud.
    As for steel melting, how should I know .I just know the attached Black Cud was caused by a STEEL FLAKE WHICH HAD DETACHED ITSELF FROM THE THE DIES OBVERSE FACE.
    Previously one or all of you said their were no cuds which are black.That a black cud is a caused by soldering.
    Key word Rim to Rim Cuds and learn something.
    This is the Reverse.
    I will rest my case.

    I'm not sure how a cud can be black. Shouldn't a cud be the same color as the planchet? Would you please clarify why you think the cud turned black before you rest your case.
