<p>[QUOTE=&quot;Dima, post: 24575216, member: 18037&quot;]Howdy folks,</p><p><br /></p><p>Been away for a while; got side tracked with buying a house and having a little kiddo.&nbsp; For most of &#039;22, collecting took a back seat.&nbsp; I had a chance to attend CSNS show in April of last year and picked up this neatly toned Barber dime to upgrade my white MS62 one:</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1559116[/ATTACH]</p><p>[ATTACH=full]1559117[/ATTACH]</p><p><br /></p><p>Despite the darker toning, this piece has some wonderful dancing cartwheel luster.</p><p><br /></p><p>This past April I again had a chance to attend CSNS and couldn&#039;t leave empty handed.&nbsp; I was eyeballing a few classic commemoratives, but unfortunately a beautiful MS64 1925 California Jubilee half was sold while I was finishing my initial lap.&nbsp; Luckily, I was able to buy this attractive, relatively clean/white <b>Bay Bridge MS64</b> classic commemorative:</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1559124[/ATTACH]</p><p><br /></p><p>And most recently, with my birthday coming up, decided to splurge a bit and picked up my first gold dollar; <b>MS62 1916 McKinley</b>:</p><p><br /></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1559125[/ATTACH]</p><p><br /></p><p>This one is quite bright and lustrous as well despite the lower MS grade.&nbsp; The reverse has an odd green spec around 4 o&#039;clock, right along the rim -- possibly remnants of improper storage (?) but oddly still straight graded.&nbsp; Down the road someday I may send it for restoration to remove that spec; we&#039;ll see if I ever get around to it.</p><p><br /></p><p>Quite enjoyable was falling down a rabbit hole and spending ~hour reading about President McKinley&#039;s life/accomplishments and the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_McKinley_Birthplace_Memorial" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_McKinley_Birthplace_Memorial" rel="nofollow">McKinley Birthplace Memorial</a> (depicted on the reverse of the coin).&nbsp; The memorial looks rather impressive; I&#039;d love to visit it some day.</p><p><br /></p><p>Next for me are a few half dollars I&#039;m tracking on Heritage Auctions.&nbsp; Will post when/if I get &#039;em <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie1" alt=":)" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" />[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
