Here are my latest High Resolution Images of Lincoln Cents: Semi-Prooflike 1954-S: https://easyzoom.com/image/125101 Full-Strike/Double-Strike 1954-S: https://easyzoom.com/image/124607 1938-S RPM#2: https://easyzoom.com/image/125100
I am not totally new to collecting but my knowlege is still very spotty at best. I would appreciate detailed information about how to take such excellent photos. I have tried some electronic means, with pretty humbling results (though I do not have megabucks to put in). Thanks for your guidance.
I love these super sharp, crystal clear images. Anyone can clearly see that RPM, and it looks fantastic!
Thanks to all for the kind words. I use a system that both focus stacks (takes multiple images at different focus planes) and panorama stitches (takes stacks of photos across an XY panorama). The images you see are made up of typically 60 source images. They are then processed in several computer programs to achieve the final result. Not for the faint of heart!
You just reset the bar in the straatosphere! I can't wait to see a dollar size coin with your automated stage...
I may just shoot a Dollar someday. The zoom level would be similar if I use the same 2x3 panorama. It may be good to do a 3x4 panorama on the larger coin though. This ends up producing a ~150MP image. My very first S&S was a 3x4, done manually (!!!), and it is something to behold. Take a look here: https://easyzoom.com/image/123994 Of course I am not limited with the S&S system. I can do any magnification and any size panorama I wish. It's just a matter of how much work I'm willing to put in.
